Practice engines
Question banks that adapt, scheduling that respects forgetting curves, and mastery models you can actually explain to a parent. We build the loop that turns "watched a lesson" into "can do it next week."
Education software studio
CodeJumbo LLC designs and builds education apps and online-learning tools — practice engines, curriculum tooling, and the quiet infrastructure behind them. Small teams, short cycles, no filler.

What we build
Most education software fails in the same places: content is hard to author, practice isn't adaptive, and nobody can see whether any of it worked. That's the whole of our work.
Question banks that adapt, scheduling that respects forgetting curves, and mastery models you can actually explain to a parent. We build the loop that turns "watched a lesson" into "can do it next week."
Authoring environments for the people who write the content — editors, tagging, standards alignment, review workflow, versioning. If your subject-matter experts dread the CMS, the curriculum stops improving.
Dashboards for teachers, tutors, and families that answer one question fast: what should this learner do next? Rostering, assignments, progress signals — built to be read in the ninety seconds before a class starts.
Approach
We're a small studio, and small studios only stay useful by being clear about how they work. Here's ours, up front.
A narrow slice in front of real learners beats a roadmap. We aim for something usable within the first few weeks, then iterate against what it tells us.
Retrieval practice, spacing, and fast feedback are boring and they work. We reach for new techniques when the measurement says they help.
Learning products often involve minors. We default to the smallest data set that makes the product work, and we say plainly what we keep and why.
Keyboard paths, contrast, screen-reader semantics, and sane offline behaviour are part of the build — not a remediation project after launch.
How an engagement runs
A short paid discovery: who the learner is, what success looks like, and the one metric worth moving. You keep the write-up either way.
Weekly releases against a visible backlog. You see working software on a URL, not slide decks about working software.
Documented code, your repositories, your infrastructure. We can stay on for support, but you're never stuck with us.
About
CodeJumbo LLC is an independent software studio working exclusively in education. We build our own learning apps and take on a small number of client engagements each year with schools, publishers, tutoring groups, and education startups.
The name is a joke about scope: the code stays small, the problems are jumbo. Teaching a person something is genuinely hard, and no framework has ever fixed that. Good software just removes the friction around the teaching — the clunky authoring tool, the practice set that never adapts, the report nobody reads.
We work remotely, we write things down, and we prefer clients who want to own what gets built.
Contact
A paragraph is plenty: who your learners are, what you've got today, and what's in the way. We reply to everything within two business days.
